Frequently Asked
Questions
Why use ThreadHappy for the resale of your children’s
clothing?
We are the easiest way to make money for your children’s
outgrown clothing. We pick up your clothing. We sort it,
sell it & ship it. You do nothing except get a check every
month.
Why use ThreadHappy instead of local consignment / resale
shops?
You will make at a minimum what you could earn at a local
shop or sale. Many times you can earn more depending on the
popularity of your pieces.
Why use ThreadHappy instead of local bi-yearly consignment
sales?
It is true that many people make decent money at these sales
BUT there is a lot of time and effort involved in
participating. It generally takes at least 2 hours to
register, get your clothing approved and then put it on the
racks. This does not include the time you spend washing,
ironing, hanging and tagging your items prior to the sale.
This also does not include the driving time to get to these
sales.
Why use TH instead of selling online yourself?
By using TH, you reap the benefits of our 7 years of selling
experience. We know when and what to list. We know which
days of the week and what time of the day to end auctions.
TH is a member of several ebay selling forums which keep us
up to date on all policy changes and ebay related news.
For example, did you know it
is ebay "illegal" to mention other brands that you might
be selling in your listing. Ebay can pull your
listing and you will get a listing violation. You
also can't use stock photos from other websites.
This will also result in a listing violation.
What are the risks of selling on ebay?
It does occasionally happen that an auction will end on the
low side. Maybe there was an awesome episode of Grey’s
Anatomy on TV and people forgot to check ebay and bid on the
item – who knows. But it does happen. But it could also
happen that you have an extremely popular dress that sells
for double what you could have made for it locally.
How do the ebay “seasons” work?
Ebay selling seasons are a bit different that local stores.
Spring & summer items start selling as early as January.
Fall & Winter sales start in July.
